I’m a writer, design strategist, and educator based in New York.
Currently, I’m a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication Design and I teach classes about publishing, design history, and interaction. I’m also a current board member at AIGA NY.
My research examines how design shapes what people believe (politically, spiritually, culturally, and about themselves), while bringing overlooked histories of the internet and graphic design into contemporary conversations about technology.
I’ve written about topics ranging from the digitization of Serbian Cyrillic typefaces, to trash metaphors in interface design, AI and spirituality, and the politics of names for publications including The New York Times, MIT Technology Review, WIRED, Fast Company, Are.na, and Dirt.
I also run Labud, a design studio specializing in strategy, branding, and web design for clients across fashion, art, and tech.
